Many times referred to as the "Wonder Rose", the Flower Carpet ground cover roses, or Carpet Roses, are some of the most popular roses available in the world today. This is because of their long flowering period, easy care and exceptional disease resistance and great drought tolerance.

Flower Carpet Roses

A well grown two to three year old plant can provide up to and over 1,000 blooms per bush.

Over 35 years of breeding by Noack Rosen has gone into the development of these disease tolerant, easy care, free flowering beauties. Great planted en masse in the landscape or in a group in the garden. As a Tree Rose, they are one of the most stunning plants available in the garden.

Will readily thrive in USDA Zones 5 to 10. In cold zones, protect with mulch over the crown during the first winter. In zones 5 and below, continued winter protection is advised. (Plants have grown successfully down to zones 3b). For winter protection tips, see below.

Irrigation

Flower Carpet ground cover roses have a two tier root system, fibrous roots near the surface to use available water, and a deeper root system that allows it to flourish during drier periods. Flower Carpet Coral

Flower Carpet CORAL is a coral-pink groundcover rose, one of the series of Flower Carpet groundcover roses first introduced in 1992 by Anthony Tesselaar International. Bred by Noack Rosen, the German rose hybridizer known for their early commitment to disease-resistant hybrids, Flower Carpet CORAL shares the impressive levels of natural disease-resistance of its Flower Carpet cousins.

Flower Carpet CORAL is a top-performing groundcover rose that blooms in profusion from late spring through fall and, like its predecessors, exhibits excellent natural disease-resistance in the landscape.

Flower Carpet Rose - Coral

Flower Carpet CORAL is a rose which has coral-pink single flowers with classy antique-gold stamens. Its petals dont fade in the sun on the contrary, they darken over time to a deep reddish- coral that looks bright and fresh for the life of the flower. The flowers are arrayed in exceptionally large clusters of 20-30 blossoms each, on average.

Once established, will bloom from late Spring to Fall in flowering flushes of 3+ weeks that will come and go throughout the season with lighter blooms in between. Flower lifespan is 2-3 days.

Flower Carpet YELLOW is a buttercup-yellow groundcover rose, one of the series of Flower Carpet groundcover roses introduced by Anthony Tesselaar Plants.

Flower Carpet Rose - Yellow

Bred by Noack Rosen, the German rose hybridizers known for their early commitment to disease-resistant hybrids, Flower Carpet YELLOW shares the impressive natural disease-resistance of its Flower Carpet cousins.

Flower Carpet YELLOW is a top-performing groundcover rose that blooms profusely. One of the earliest to bloom, starts from mid spring and continues through to late fall and, like its predecessors, exhibits excellent natural disease-resistance in the landscape. It is worth noting that Flower Carpet YELLOW is the most upright and shrubby variety of the Flower Carpet series.

Flower Carpet YELLOW has rich yellow semi-double flowers with darker yellow stamens and holds its color consistently, even in the Texas sun where we have had a number of reports saying that it should be named the "yellow roses of Texas" due to its nearly unfading color and continuous blooming habit.

The flowers are arrayed in clusters of 5 to 6 blossoms each, on average. Its rich glossy green foliage continues to look fresh all season

Can thrive in a variety of soil conditions. Performs best in well-drained friable garden soil with added organic matter.

Water Needs

When planting in the landscape, water in well particularly during hot conditions and continue to water regularly until the plant is established. Flower Carpet roses are very tolerant of dry conditions once established.

Fertilizer

For maximum flowering and performance, feed with a balanced rose food. It is best not to feed roses in fall and winter as forcing new growth that late in the season can increase the chances of cold-damage over winter. In warm climates (USDA zones 8 and up): feed in early spring and late summer. In cold climates (USDA zones 5 through 7): feed in spring only.

Disease Tolerance

Very resistant to common rose blights such as black spot and mildew. It does not require routine chemical spraying and dusting, apply only if needed.

Pest Issues

Treat for insect pests only as needed.

Special Care

In zones 5 and below, winter protection is advised, especially in first winter.
